چکیده

We consider the speed scaling problem of scheduling a collection of tasks with release times, deadlines, and sizes so as to minimize the energy recharge rate. This is the first theoretical investigation of speed scaling for devices with a regenerative energy source. We show that the problem can be expressed as a polynomial sized convex program. We show that using the KKT conditions, one can obtain an efficient algorithm to verify the optimality of a schedule. We show that the energy optimal YDS schedule is 2-approximate with respect to the recharge rate. We show that the online algorithm BKP is O(1)-competitive with respect to recharge rate.

Optimal Speed Scaling with a Solar Cell

We consider the setting of a sensor that consists of a speedscalable processor, a battery, and a solar cell that harvests energy from its environment at a time-invariant recharge rate. The processor must process a collection of jobs of various sizes. Jobs arrive at different times and have different deadlines. The objective is to minimize the recharge rate, which is the rate at which the device...

Cloud Speed Impact on Solar Variability Scaling - Application to the Wavelet Variability Model

The wavelet variability model (WVM) for simulating solar photovoltaic (PV) powerplant output given a single irradiance sensor as input has been developed and validated previously. Central to the WVM method is a correlation scaling coefficient ( ) that calibrates the decay of correlation of the clear sky index as a function of distance and timescale, and which varies by day and geographic locati...

Dependence of Solar Wind Power Spectra on the Direction of the Local Mean Magnetic Field

Wavelet analysis can be used to measure the power spectrum of solar wind fluctuations along a line in any direction (θ, φ) with respect to the local mean magnetic field B0. This technique is applied to study solar wind turbulence in high-speed streams in the ecliptic plane near solar minimum using magnetic field measurements with a cadence of eight vectors per second. The analysis of nine high-...

High efficient Perovskite solar cells base on Niobium Doped TiO2 as a Buffer Layer

Here, the effect of lightly Niobium doped TiO2 layer on the performance of perovskite solar cells has been studied by using solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS). N addition, the effects of Niobium concentration, buffer film thickness and operating temperature on the performance of the perovskite solar cell are investigated. For doping level of 3.0 mol% into the TiO2 layer, cell efficiency o...

Damping of visco-resistive Alfven waves in solar spicules

Interaction of Alfven waves with plasma inhomogeneity generates phase mixing which can cause the dissipation of Alfven waves. We investigated the dissipation of standing Alfven waves due to phase mixing at the presence of steady flow and sheared magnetic field in solar spicules. Moreover, the transition region between chromosphere and corona was considered. Our numerical simulation showed that ...
